" You're welcome. Now tell me..." Jane said as Thor studies the frame-grabs with interest. Jane points to his form in the Bifrost photo.
"What were you doing, in that?" Jane asks as He glances at it, dismissive.
"What does anyone do in the Bifrost?" Everyone stares at him. Selvig seems to recognize the word.Jane opens her notebook, quickly writes the word down. Thor moves close to her, eyes the notations and drawings within the book, curious.
" The Bifrost..." Selvig said feeling amused and skeptical
Jane starts to get uncomfortable with Thor standing so close to her, looking over her notations. She quickly closes the book.
"What exactly is the Bifrost?" Jane asked
" This mortal form has grown weak." Thor said ignoring James
"BUT--"
"Jane! He must be hungry let's take him to the diner you can ask your questions after he has eaten something " Kenichi said to which Jane nods her head and all of them decided to go to the diner.
Thor, Selvig, Darcy, Jane and Kenichi sit at a table in the local diner. Selvig and Darcy watch as Thor eats ravenously from a huge mound of steak and eggs. A couple other full plates -- pancakes and biscuits and gravy -- are piled high before him. Jane's eager, her notebook at the ready.
" Now tell us exactly what happened to you last night." Jane asks
Thor looks her in the eyes, staring, intrigued. Jane gets flustered, looks away.
" Maybe start with how you got inside
that cloud." Jane said
"And how you could eat an entire box of Pop-Tarts and still be this hungry." Darcy added
Jane shoots her a withering look. Thor downs a cup of coffee.
"This drink. I like it." Thor said
" Yeah, it's great, isn't it? Isabela makes the best coffee in town." Darcy said
Thor hurls the empty mug at the ground, but Kenichi catches it before it shatters.
" Another!" Thor said but it's surprised to find no shattering sound coming and looked down to find Kenichi holding the cup he has thrown.
"What was that? What are you trying to do?" Jane asks
"It's okay Jane, I have now understood how his mind works" Kenichi said as he placed the empty cup on the table
" It was delicious. I want another." Thor ignores Kenichi for a little while and answers Jane's question
"Then you should just say so!" Jane said
"I just did." Thor said
" I mean ask for it. Nicely." Jane said
" I meant no disrespect."
"The Viking ways don't work in modern society anymore Thor, asking for another drink while smashing the cup means you want trouble now" Kenichi said
"Wiking ways?" asked Darcy while Jane and Selvig looked at him in interest.
"Midgard is an old name that Viking used to call earth by, smashing the empty cup to ask for another drink is there method of saying it's really good and Thor is a Viking name after the old Norse god Thor the god of thunder." Kenichi explained
"Oh! You know me?" asked Thor in surprise
"Well I just started watching a Viking series so that's why I know a about all this." Kenichi said as he shrugged his shoulders.
A few TOWNIES, looking bedraggled, enter and take a seat at the counter. These were the people who were at the crater before.
"Morning, Pete. Jake." said Isabela the diner owner
"The usual, please, Izzy." said Pete the Townie
Isabela pours them a couple cups of coffee.
"You missed all the excitement out at the crater." said Jake the Townie who was a little drunk
" What crater?" asked Isabela
Jane and Selvig overhear this, exchange a look, turn to the Townies with interest.
"They're saying some kind of satellite crashed in the desert." Pete days
" We were having a good time with it till the Feds showed up, chased us out." Jake added
" Excuse me, did you say there was a satellite crash?" Jane ahes the townies
" Yep. They said it was radioactive. And I had my hands all over it. I'm probably sterile now." Jake the Townie said
Thor, unconcerned, prepares to dig into the giant pile of pancakes. Darcy is amazed by the sight.
"Oh my God, this is going on Facebook." Darcy whips out her cellphone and said to Thor "Smile!"
Thor looks puzzled as she SNAPS a photo of him and his massive stack of food.
"It didn't looked like a satellite to me" Kenichi added
"Huh! You were there?" asked Jane in surprise
"Yeah while coming to the town I saw a large group of people were gathered there for some reason so I went to check it out and found a crater with this thing there" Kenichi said as he fish out his phone from his pocket and showed the image of Mjolnir to them
"It looks like a hammer" Selvig said which gets Thors attention and he also looks at image as well.
" I don't know nothing about satellites. But it was heavy. Real heavy. Nobody could lift it." the Drunk Townie Jake added.
Thor springs to his feet, went straight to Kenichi's face and asked him.
"Where?!"
"About twelve miles east of here." Jake replied even though Thor didn't ask him.
Thor grins, his spirits soaring, as he quickly strides out of the diner.
" I wouldn't bother! Looked like the whole Army was coming in when we left!" Pete added
Thor studies the position of the sun, gauging his bearings. Jane, Darcy, and Selvig catch up to him while Kenichi was slowly following them.
"Where are you going?" Jane asked
"Twelve miles east of here." Thor said with a smile
He starts to stride determinedly down the street. Jane walks with him.
" Why?" Jane asked
"To get what belongs to me." Thor stated
"So now you own a satellite?" Jane asks
"It's not what they say it is."
" Whatever it is, the government seems to think it's theirs. You intend to just walk in there and take it?
"Yes." He stops walking. "If you take me there now, I'll tell you everything you wish to know."
"So you are saying that it's not a satellite but Mjolnir the Hammer of Thor God of thunder." Kenichi said
"Yes, you really do know me"
"If it's really your Hanmer you should be able to call it to your hand so why do you need to get there to pick it up " asked Kenichi𝑅ead new chapt𝒆rs on novel𝒃in(.)com
"That's because I can't right now"
"Don't tell me that you fell for one of your Uncle Loki's trick"
"Uncle Loki!? He is my little brother "
"Ok, I was going to play along but you don't even know your mythology right." Kenichi shook his head and turned back to walk towards Selvig and Darcy who have been trying to get Jane to drop the thought of following them.
"I'm sorry. I can't take you."
