"So how's your mom doing?" I asked even though I wanted to avoid heavy topics, but something just made me feel like I wanted to help her in any way possible.

"She's fine- I think-" She said slowly going silent.

" No- it's not like that- It's just- I don't want to trouble you." She said while looking outside the window.

I immediately stopped the car on the side of the road.

"Actually my mom- she's been bringing home this man- and even when she's pregnant and dad passed away just a year ago- " She said with a lot of pauses- it almost seemed like she was trying to hold back her tears.
