Lunar Supremacy: The Original Alpha

Chapter 5 Ch: 05

[Come to me,] Vincent heard something, so he turned his head and asked Nathan, "Did you say something?"

Nathan looked at Vincent, confusion written on his face.

"No, I didn't say anything. Why do you ask?" he said, his eyes alight with excitement. This kind of mysterious thing was making his adrenaline pump.

"I thought I heard something," Vincent said, turning his head and scanning the dark, twisting staircase that led into the unknown. "It sounded like a voice calling out to me."

Alexandru stepped forward, holding a flashlight in his hand as he spoke.

"It's probably just the echoes in the tunnel. We should keep moving. The entrance to the main tunnel is just ahead." he said, shining the light into the darkness.

Vincent shrugged off the strange voice and followed the rest of the team.

At the bottom of the staircase, they found themselves in a long, narrow tunnel. The walls were rough-hewn stone, and the only light came from the flashlights they held in their hands.

But as he walked, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was not right. He glanced over his shoulder, half-expecting to see someone following them, but there was nothing there.

After walking for several minutes, the trio finally reached a massive door, seemingly crafted from ancient materials. Alexandru stepped forward, his flashlight illuminating the old stone.

"This door is made from a mixture of materials that are over 2,000 years old. The metal, in particular, is very rare and is said to have mystical properties that make it virtually indestructible."

Nathan gasped, his eyes wide with wonder. "I can't believe it.This door is ancient, and yet it's still here, in perfect condition."

Vincent nodded, his hand reaching out to touch the metal. "It's amazing. The way the light is reflecting off the metal, it's almost like the door is alive."

Alexandru smiled, his eyes twinkling with delight.

"That's why I love this job. Every day, I get to discover something new, something that will change the way we see the world."

[Enter]

Vincent turned around, his heart racing as he searched for the source of the voice. But Nathan and Alexandru stood next to him, both looking puzzled.

"Did you hear that?" Vincent asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Nathan shook his head.

"Hear what? I don't hear anything," he replied, looking at Vincent with concern.

Alexandru stepped forward, shining his flashlight in Vincent's direction.

"Are you feeling alright?" he asked, his tone serious.

Vincent hesitated, then shook his head.

"I don't know what's going on," he said, running his hand through his hair. "I thought I heard something, but I must be imagining things."

Nathan placed a hand on Vincent's shoulder. "We've been underground for a while now," he said, trying to reassure his friend. "It's easy to start feeling a little disoriented."

Alexandru nodded. "That's true, We should probably take a break soon. But first, let's take a look at what's behind this door."

Alexandru instructed his team to open the massive door, which was too heavy for a single person to open. With a loud creak, the door slowly swung open, revealing what lay beyond.

As the massive door slowly creaked open, revealing a massive hall beyond, Vincent couldn't help but gawk in awe and fear at the giant statue standing in the center of the room. Its wings, reminiscent of a bat's, spread wide and its eyes seemed to pierce right through him.

"What the hell is that thing?" he breathed out, pointing a shaking finger at the statue. Just the sight of it made his heart race and his palms sweat.𝑛𝗼νℯ𝒍𝑏i𝘯.𝔫𝔢𝒕

"A vampire!" Nathan exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement and fear. He was shaking with adrenaline, overcome by the sheer size and presence of the statue.

He ran towards the statue like a child seeing their favorite toy for the first time. He couldn't believe his life-long dream of finding something from the supernatural world was finally in front of him.

"Calm down, Nathan. This is just a statue," Vincent said, trying to bring some rational thinking back to the situation. But even he couldn't deny the feeling of awe that was building inside him as he looked at the massive structure.

"Look at it, Vincent. It's magnificent," Nathan exclaimed with great anticipation.

"Yes, it is magnificent," Vincent replied, looking at the statue with wonder.

Amused, Vincent watched as Nathan eagerly approached the statue, examining it with great anticipation.

"Don't be too scared," Alexandru chuckled, tapping Vincent's shoulder. "This statue has been here for centuries, and it's just a beautiful piece of art." He gazed at the statue admiringly, "It's truly a masterpiece, and a symbol of our ancestors' creativity and skill."

"Don't tell me," Vincent said, his voice growing in suspicion. "This is all just an elaborate plan by Nathan's dad?" He finally realized what was happening.

"Yes, Mr. Wayne loves his son deeply, and he wanted to make some of his dreams come true," Alexandru confirmed Vincent's suspicion with a soft smile.

Vincent sighed and smiled back, he knew he couldn't burst Nathan's fantasy, so he would play along.

Alexandru spun an elaborate web of stories, painting a picture so vivid and rich with detail that Nathan was completely enthralled.

With every word, he heightened the sense of wonder and excitement, fueling Nathan's fascination for the unknown. Vincent, meanwhile, simply smiled and played along, allowing himself to be swept away by the sheer magic of the moment.

The two friends thought it was just supposed to be a normal, fun adventure. But, suddenly, the ground started to quake.

Alexandru quickly noticed the tremors and immediately pulled Nathan to safety, determined to protect him at all costs.

"Now! We have to go now!" Alexandru shouted in a desperate urgency, pulling Nathan along as they sprinted towards the exit. The tremors grew stronger and it was clear that the ancient temple was collapsing around them.

Nathan was disoriented by the sudden earthquake, but he frantically turned his head in search of his friend Vincent, not wanting to be separated from him in the chaos.

"Where are you, Vincent?" Nathan called out in despair, unable to spot his friend amidst the chaos of the fleeing crowd. But there was no response. The fear of losing his friend overwhelmed him.
